Mek’s Easy Gluten Free Doughnuts – Cooking with the Kiddos

I’m just in love. I kinda can’t help myself! I love his smile. Who wouldn’t be smiling with all of those doughnuts?

What’s even better? Beautiful little Mek and his mom, Staci, made these gluten free doughnuts together.

Have I mentioned how much I’m enjoying all the “Cooking with the Kiddos” article submissions for our summer event?

These are not your ooey gooey Krispy Kreme-type doughnuts (hey, wouldn’t THOSE be great to see gluten free?!), but the delicious, sink-your-teeth-into-them, CAKE doughnuts.

I’d invite the debate on WHICH kind of doughnut is better, the melty glaze or the cake version, but since the melty glaze kind aren’t available gluten free, cake doughnuts win!

I’m reposting this submission from

They made this with King Arthur Gluten Free Flour Pancake Mix and a doughnut maker. (You can also use a doughnut cookie sheet and adjust the baking time.)

Thanks Staci and Mek!

That big smile on Mek is as delicious as those fabulous gluten free donuts. He must have a special mom to make him so happy.

  1. Great picture! I will take these over Krispy Cremes any day of the week :)

These look yummy! I recently made donuts for my son’s birthday and did indeed find a wonderful recipe for yeast doughnuts on website called “MrsP’s Yeast Rolls”. I used the King Arthur flour and really couldn’t taste a difference!
